Social networking for law librarians and friends of law libraries

Help! I gave a group presentation to call centre managers on social networks, and they have now invited me to create a workshop for them on using social networks for recruitment. I am delighted my little business development speaking gig has turned into paid work, but now what? Does anyone know anything about using social networks for recruitment, before I spend hours researching this topic? Is anyone else doing anything like this?

Okay, obviously my focus is not just law and not just libraries, but thought there might be some cross-over info out there.

Cheers!

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I just ran across it: http://www.jobsinsocialmedia.com/
Very interesting site! It is an example of using Ning as a job site, which is an interesting idea. I will have closer look through it for ideas.

But, I am looking more for some advice on how to create a strategy to harness social media tools for recruiting. Above and beyond a site like Monster.com or a job board. For example, how does one integrate Facebook into a recruitment strategy. What should the Facebook presence look like (a group? a page?) and then how do you get people to it, and then how do you translate that into getting people into the jobs?

Ernst & Young has a "Careers" page on Facebook, so that is one example I will be looking at. The Ontario government has built a recruitment site in Second Life, where potential firefighters can fight simulation fires (and they have other demos for other positions).

I need to figure out what will work for call centres. Some have high turnaround of young people, so it seems to be a good fit as a place to go to recruit them (likely other networks, too, such as MySpace). How does one tie this back into their main website?

I may need to interview some of the larger techie companies to find out how they are using these sites to recruit...
Ah! That site has a nice little list of links down the bottom right side. Will hunt through those for some clues. Yay! :-)
