Do you have an avatar in Second Life? What do you do in SL (that you're willing to share publicly)?

Okay, I'm on the in-world group for librarians on SL. And they've announced some parties. Any others? Especially if they have Latin dance? And thanks! :-)

For those of you who love Second Life, please visit the open house for the Law Librarians in Virtual Worlds workshop. It will be tomorrow, August 21st from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. (PST) and 5-7 p.m. (PST).

In answer to Jim's question "Do you have an avatar in SL...?" I do have an avatar in Second Life and am basically just getting my bearings finding places and things to do(love the tips I am finding here).

Cat says the site will be up through September, so you can at least visit there when you want. When you're there, go to the spot where there are green balls. Click on the one that says Fun Zone. That's where the bumper cars and dance floor are...:-) Click on the green ball in the sky to dance/animate your avatar. Click on it again to stop. For the bumper cars, right click, then Sit Here and you're off! :-)
(the important stuff, besides the project displays...:-)

BTW, Tink Rang created them. If you contact her in-world, she'll likely be happy to show you around. She's also a participant in the workshop, so can talk about the project too.

Hmm, can't wait to do the bumper cars again next week! :-)

I remembered too late to get signed up and attend the conference today. I do have a SL avatar, Boptunia Woodget. But I haven't been active on SL since before my surgery. Boptunia has been catatonic for months. But I think the project sounds pretty cool & I'm glad you guys are putting things up so I can read after the fact. thanks!

I am Marin Mariani in SL and I can't get my hair to do what I want it to. Other than that, I am excited to be finally giving Second Life the extra time I don't have.

:-) Nice avatar, Marin! Hope you and everyone can make it to Tink's Party on Monday. My avatar's name is Montserrat Biedermann. He'll be dressed in a tuxedo (it took a while to figure out how to change him out of street clothes, so he's stuck with it, but he's quite debonair-looking...:-)).
