Hi Grace! Glad to see you in the Midwest, although my student worker from Minnesota argues that Kansas is not in the Midwest but in the Plains. Either way, your closer to Kansas than Florida now.
Someone posted a llink to a blog having to do with Sarah Palin, while she was mayor, which talked about her asking the Wausilla librarian if she would be OK with banning certain books from the library. The librarian refused, and was issued a termination notice... you've probably heard that story. Anyhow some Republicans got upset about politics being discussed on the listserv, even thought the main issue was the attempted censorship. Then a flame war developed.
I have been a law librarian for over 18 years. I am now at Hamline University as the Law Library Director.
I can say that I've lived in the Northeast, the South, the West: now I am at home in the Mid West. Previously, I was the founding Law Library Director at Florida A&M University, the Associate Law Librarian at North Carolina Central University, a Senior Reference Librarian at University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) and I started as a Reference Librarian at CUNY Law School in New York.
I'm a proud member of AALL, SLA, SEAALL, MALL, the ABA, ACLU, HRC, the Wellesley Alumnae Association and I am a proud AKA.
