Hi Michele,

I think lots of librarians are feeling the pinch - several of my friends in law firms are on 4 day weeks now.

It is still very busy here and I am trying to write a guide on finding treaties. It is very interesting but complicated so I am doing it in stages when I am feeling wide awake!

My son has his school fiar this weekend so that will be fun. All the school children go on a float that is pulled round the village and the parents follow behind. There are lots of activities to do - smashing plates, throwing wet sponges at the teachers, lucky dips and raffles so it will be lots of fun.

take care

Hi Michele,

the news has been made official now so I can tell you about it. There has been a suggestion to merge the Libraries and a feasibility study is now being carried out. If this goes ahead then one of the Libraries will no longer exist. The space will be used for different purposes. It is all very stressful and that's why I have been a bit pre-occupied lately. One merged Library will not need 2 lots of staff so there will be redundancies. It will be a great pity to see one of us go although theymay actually decide not to merge but we will not find out the decision until near the end of the year. I guess this just shows how no-one can assume thier job is safe in these current times.

How are things with you? We are having some nice springtime weather this week and it is lovely to see all the blossoms on the trees and the flowers coming out. We spent last saturday by the sea getting some fresh sea air in our lungs - we all felt better for that!

take care

Hi Michele,

so sorry not to have responded. Its been a very busy couple of months here.

Things are quite stressful so my mind has been elsewhere.

I have just had a few days holiday in Cornwall and that was good - just to relax and spend tme with the family. We are now having some lovely spring weather so will be out in the garden at the weekend hopefully.

Hope all is well with you?

kind regards

I know the weather in San Diego as it is in Marseille or elsewhere around the Mideterranian sea.

I love those, especially the Hausmann boulevard and the trees in the snow!

Hi Michele,

although I live in a tiny village in Kent we have the most fantastic Indian restaurant just down the road from us. We go there alot as Albert loves Indian food. He also likes Chinese and italian and when we were in France last year he tried lots of French food. He is easy to feed! London has many good Indian restaurants so if you ever come over, you will be spoilt for choice.

have a good weekend

Hi michele,

nice to hear from you. The weather is better now but it was quite bad for a couple of weeks - snow then floods. I had to have 2 days off work as there were no trains. My son's birthday was good - he had a party with his school firends and we took him out for an Indian meal as well.

I don't look like that photo - not yet anyway.

Work is busy - several people off due to sickness. Just had 2 days off and went to Brimingham. It was a very interesting place - lots of history and museums to visit. Plus many restaurants.

Hope all is well with you

Hi Michele,

Christmas seems a long time ago now - we too are very busy and the weather has been very bad.

My son is 6 next week and I find that hard to believe - hardly sems that long ago since he celebrated his first birthday.

I watched the inauguration cermony last week and it is very exciting and great to have the new President.

take care
