PhotoSynth

I saw this on Pogue's Posts and immediately went to the website for PhotoSynth and downloaded the software. It allows you to turn a few hundred photos into a 3-D virtual rendering.

I'll definitely be playing with this during the weekend.

Other Law Library-Related Ning Networks?

From the AALL CS-SIS Web 2.0 Challenge, I know there's now an AALL Federal Law Libraries Caucus Ning group:
http://fedlawlib.ning.com/

And I know the ALLUNY and SFALL chapters of AALL are on Ning:

http://alluny.ning.com/

http://joinsfall.ning.com/

Any other law library-related groups on Ning other than Law Libraries and Librarians and its sub-groups?

Thanks,
Lyo.

AALS Workshop for Law Librarians

Wondering what your friends and colleagues are up to in Cleveland this week at the AALS Workshop for Law Librarians? I've posted several short video clips on Flickr.

In each case I asked "What is the most valuable thing you've gotten from this workshop so far?" Look for more clips coming tomorrow.

Conference! Canadian Association of Law Libraries

Wow! I step away for a few days and now see all sorts of great discussions happening. I am heading to the CALL 2008 conference in Saskatoon. I'll be heading there Saturday (tomorrow) and staying until Wednesday mid-day. Conference details here. I am not speaking but will try to spread the word about our little network.

Cheers!

New Features

(1) We now have two wiki options for those who want to use that format for organizing documentation and plans here. You can use the "Notes" page, which is Ning's own simplified wiki-like function, or you can use the lawlibrariesning.pbwiki.com wiki in the Wiki section of the Main page. PBwiki doesn't integrate all that well--you'll have to pop out a new window to use it--but it looks workable.

(2) There are some additional Profile questions for members: Flickr ID and Second Life… Continue

Welcome everyone!

Wow--this room is filling up fast. I hope people will use the forums (fora?) to talk about those pressing issues. And, we're hoping to use the meebo chat room for some scheduled talks but it is also available for informal chats.

What a great place to seek support and advice from our colleagues! Thanks to Jim Milles for creating this space for us.

Cheers,
Connie
