oooh! I knew you would use the Bristlecones as your sign! Now I'm most eager to see how you customize your page - your artistic skill will come to the fore!

In response to your query: I haven't a clue - but I know that librarianship is on the rise with the young, tattooed be-pierced set, so one presumes they are a tad more liberal, and by extension, Democratic in leaning. Qui sais?

I made the avatar with this website: http://illustmaker.abi-station.com/index_en.shtml. My partner Kristina added Christopher the cat.

Hi Michele! Thanks for the welcome. I have only been to San Diego a couple of times, but I liked it a lot! So pretty and sunny. Pretty much nothing -- barring a McCain/Palin presidency, of course -- could tear me away from Portland.

In Maine, Patriot's Day is a big deal. All government offices are closed, schools are closed, and everyone has a good time.

Well, and remember that thing I sent you describing how the daft scientists who first discovered this grove went and hacked down the oldest individual, Nebucanezzer or something, and killed it? Idiots.

Hi Michele,

thanks for your comment. The Inner Temple Library is primarily for members of the Inner Temple. We are not a religious body (wich lots of people assume) - Inner Temple is is one of the four Inns of Court and all barristers in England must belong to one of the Inns. Our Library has a very long history. The first mention of the Inner Temple
Library was in 1506. The building we have now does not date back that far - it has been rebuilt several times and the last time was following bombing in 1941. We have a
web site - www.innertemplelibrary.org.uk - which gives lots of information about our history and has photos. Hope this is of interest to you.
Regards

Tracey

I just joined twitter. I have no idea why. It seems to be something I should know about.

Hi Michele,

nice to hear back from you.
Our library is really lovely - it was rebuilt in 1958 so the outside is not that interesting but the inside is fantastic - all the fittings are in oak and we have chandeliers all over. It is very atmospheric. We only allow barristers in and students who are doing the course to become barristers. We are kept very busy and get plenty of interesting queries to answer.
Hope you are having a good week
